This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Removal Companies Brompton in respect of the financial year ending 31 March. It sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains, and reaffirms our commitment to ethical conduct in all areas of our business.
Removal Companies Brompton provides residential and commercial removals, packing, storage, and associated services. Our operations rely on a network of suppliers that provide vehicles, fuel, packaging materials, storage facilities, equipment, and outsourced services such as cleaning, maintenance, and temporary labour.
We recognise that modern slavery can occur in all sectors and geographies, including within logistics, transport, warehousing, and labour provision. We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners that share our values and can demonstrate robust protections for workers.
We operate a clear, zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, servitude, debt bondage, child labour, and human trafficking. This applies to our own operations and to every tier of our supply chain.
Our expectations are set out in our internal policies and our supplier standards. We expect all colleagues, contractors, and suppliers to comply with applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws, and to conduct business in a manner that respects the dignity and rights of every individual.
Any breach or suspected breach of our stance on modern slavery is treated as a serious matter and may result in termination of contracts, removal from our approved supplier list, or disciplinary action where appropriate.
We apply risk-based due diligence to existing and new suppliers, focusing particularly on those providing labour, transport, and warehousing services, and those operating in higher-risk sectors or regions. Our due diligence measures include supplier questionnaires, declarations of compliance, and review of relevant policies and certifications.
Where we identify increased risk, we may conduct more detailed checks, request additional evidence of compliance, or undertake on-site visits or audits. These audits may assess working conditions, recruitment practices, wage records, and subcontracting arrangements, as well as the supplier's own approach to managing modern slavery risks.
If an audit or assessment indicates non-compliance or areas requiring improvement, we will work with the supplier to agree a corrective action plan with clear timelines. Where satisfactory progress is not made, or where serious violations are found, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.
We provide training and guidance to relevant employees, including managers, supervisors, and those involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management. This training covers the indicators of modern slavery, how to raise concerns, and the responsibilities of staff in identifying and managing risks.
We maintain open channels for reporting any concerns about modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Colleagues, contractors, and third parties are encouraged to report, in confidence, any suspicion or evidence of exploitation, coercion, unsafe working conditions, or unlawful recruitment practices within our operations or supply chain.
Reports can be made to line management or to senior management. All concerns will be taken seriously, investigated promptly, and handled sensitively. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith.
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process and requires continuous improvement. Each year, we will review and, where necessary, enhance our policies, risk assessment processes, and due diligence measures. This includes evaluating the effectiveness of our supplier audits, staff training, and reporting mechanisms.
Our annual review will take into account any incidents or allegations raised, the outcomes of investigations, changes in our supply chain, updates to legislation or guidance, and feedback from staff and stakeholders. We will adjust our actions and priorities accordingly to strengthen our approach.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the leadership of Removal Companies Brompton and will be reviewed and updated on an annual basis to ensure it remains accurate, effective, and aligned with our commitment to ethical and responsible business practices.
